— ICC (@ICC) June 14, 2024
Ahead of the Super 8 match, there has been a change in the main squad due to an injury to Afghanistan’s star bowler. ICC has given information about this through social media platform X. Afghanistan’s off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rehman has to be out due to injury. Mujib played his only match against Uganda in the league stage of the tournament. Mujeeb’s right-hand finger injury forced him out. Hence Hazratullah Zazai, a reserve player, has been included in the main team in his place. The reserve player has been included after the ICC Technical Committee allowed changes to the main squad.
Afghanistan revised squad for T20 World Cup: Rashid Khan (captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Azmatullah Umarzai, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Ishaq, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Karim Janat, Nangyal Kharoti, Noor Ahmed, Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Farid Ahmad Malik and Hazratullah Zazai.
Reserves: Sediq Atal and Salim Safi.
