This victory also resulted in Australia’s elimination from the tournament. Due to constant rain interruptions, Bangladesh was given a revised target of 114 runs in 19 overs according to the DLS method. However, Afghanistan’s bowlers defended the target brilliantly, bowling out Bangladesh for 105 runs in 17.5 overs.

Afghanistan’s Batting Struggles

Winning the toss, Afghanistan opted to bat first but struggled to post a big total. They managed to score 115 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the top scorer with 43 runs. Ibrahim Zadran contributed 18 runs, and Azmatullah Omarzai added 10 runs. In the end, captain Rashid Khan played a crucial innings, scoring 19 runs off 10 balls, while Karim Janat remained unbeaten with 7 runs. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain took 3 wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed claimed one wicket each.
