Ajinkya Rahane to Lead Mumbai in Irani Cup 2024
Team India’s experienced batsman and former captain Ajinkya Rahane is fighting for a comeback. Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur are also away from Team India. Shardul Thakur and Shreyas Iyer Eyeing Comebacks
According to a Cricbuzz report, Ajinkya Rahane is expected to be the one to lead the Mumbai team for the Irani Trophy. Rahane led Mumbai to the 42nd Ranji Trophy under his leadership. It is also certain that Shardul Thakur will make a comeback. Shardul has been sidelined from cricket for the past few months due to injury. But due to Shardul’s comeback, Mumbai will have a good advantage on both the batting and bowling fronts.
Shardul Thakur is out of Team India due to ankle injury. Shardul had recently participated in the KSCA tournament. According to an MCA official, Shardul will be available for the Irani Trophy. On the other side, Shreyas Iyer played his last international match against Sri Lanka. Shreyas led the India D team in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy.

Rahane’s Leadership and Mumbai’s Strength
