Mohammed Shami Fitness Update: The eyes of cricket fans are fixed on fast bowler Mohammed Shami. Shami returned to Team India after almost 1 year of injury. Currently, he has returned to the team after the fitness test. However, the bandage seen on his knees is a matter of concern for cricket fans.

Shami Returns with Promising Form but Raises Fitness Concerns with a Bandaged Knee

Mohammed Shami returned to the five-match T20 series against England after a long gap of about 14 months. He was seen bowling under the supervision of the coaching staff during the practice session. He practised bowling for about 1 hour at the Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. Starting with small steps, he gradually bowled in rhythm for about an hour. Yet, the knee bandage tied around his knees is causing worry among his fans.

The Champions Trophy will start on February 19. There is currently confusion over the participation of Jasprit Bumrah, he was injured during the Australia tour.  In his absence, the reins of Indian fast bowling will be in the hands of Mohammed Shami. In this context, the bandage on Shami’s knee is raising concerns among Indian cricket fans.

A practice match was held on Sunday before the five-match T20 series against England. Mohammad Samay showed his bowling during the practice session. All eyes were on him, and he appeared to be in full rhythm.

 

Under the supervision of bowling coach Morne Morkel, Shami began with a short run-up. Starting with slow deliveries, he then increased his speed. He bowled brilliantly, but his knees were bandaged. Due to this doubts were being raised about his fitness.

 

He troubled Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma with his right speed and accurate line length, he put an end to the rumours of his fitness. Wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel also played aggressive shots against Mohammad Shami.

It is very important for the Indian team to have a strong bowling attack for the Champions Trophy to be held on February 19.  Including Mohammed Shami in the team is the right decision at the moment. After finishing bowling practice, he talked to bowling coach Morne Morkel. 

 

Mohammed Shami has made a comeback from the first domestic matches. After the Ranji Trophy, and Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, he also participated in the Vijay Hazare ODI Trophy.
