India vs England 3rd Test: The third Test match between India and England is set to begin on February 15. Both teams have won one match each in the first two Tests, resulting in a series tie at 1-1. India’s win in the second match has boosted their confidence. However, Indian skipper Virat Kohli will not be playing in the entire series, and now KL Rahul has also withdrawn from the third Test. Devdutt Padikkal, a Karnataka batsman, was announced as Rahul’s replacement, but he is yet to be included in the Indian team’s squad.

Lokesh Rahul got injured after the first Test and had to withdraw from the second Test. Although he was selected for the third Test, news of his withdrawal came out yesterday. According to BCCI, Rahul is 90% fit, but it may take another week for him to be fully fit. Devdutt Padikkal was selected in his place. In the match against Tamil Nadu, Devdutt scored an impressive 151 runs in front of the head of the selection committee, Ajit Agarkar, leading to his selection.

After his impressive performance in the last two editions of the Ranji Trophy, Devdutt was chosen for the Indian Test team. However, his selection for the third Test is uncertain as Sarfraz Khan is also being considered. Although he has been selected, Devdutt is yet to join the Indian squad. He played in a match against Tamil Nadu which ended on Monday, and is expected to join the Indian team by this evening.
