Arshdeep Singh bowled so well in the last over that it is hard to overstate his performance. Mumbai needed 16 runs to win in the last over, and captain Sam Karan handed the ball to Arshdeep Singh. Despite facing a dangerous pair of Tim David and Tilak Verma at the crease, Arshdeep did not allow runs to be scored on the second ball. On the third ball, he bowled a yorker that hit the wicket, breaking the middle stump and dismissing Tilak Verma.

With 15 runs needed in three balls, Nihal Wadhera came on strike, but he too was bowled out by Arshdeep in a similar manner. Arshdeep was on the verge of taking a hat-trick, but his fifth ball stayed away from the wicket. Mumbai managed only one run on the last ball, and Punjab won the match.

Arshdeep Singh was the real hero of the victory

After the match, Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran was adjudged Player of the Match for his inning of 55 runs off 29 balls, but he acknowledged that Arshdeep Singh was the real hero of the victory. Arshdeep took 4 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs and became the Orange Cap holder.

Mumbai won the toss and chose to bowl first. Punjab scored 214 for 8, thanks to Sam Karan’s 55, Harpreet Singh Bhatia’s 41, and Jitesh Sharma’s 25 off 7 balls. In response, Mumbai started well, with Rohit Sharma’s 44, Cameron Green’s 67, and Suryakumar Yadav’s stormy innings, but they could only manage 201 for 6 wickets in the face of Punjab’s tight bowling, losing the match by 13 runs.
