Speaking about their preparations, Babar Azam mentioned that most of the team members will be playing in India for the first time. The team’s visas were approved on Monday, and they will arrive in Hyderabad via Dubai on Wednesday. Among the squad, only Mohammad Nawaz and Aga Salman have previous experience playing in India. Babar Azam himself missed the T20 World Cup in 2016 due to injury.

The Pakistan team’s World Cup journey kicks off against the Netherlands on October 6th at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Following a face-off with Sri Lanka on October 10th, the team will head to Ahmedabad, where they will take on arch-rivals India on October 14th.

He expressed his confidence, saying,

“We are determined to bring back the trophy, despite not having played in Indian conditions before. We feel no pressure. Asian conditions are generally similar, and we expect India to be no different. It’s a great honor for me to lead the team in this World Cup, and I’m hopeful that we will return with the trophy this time.”

Regarding the highly anticipated match against India in Ahmedabad, He added,

“I’m extremely excited about the match. I will give my best performance in front of a packed stadium. My focus is not on personal achievements, but rather on the team’s success. I prepare by studying the opposition and setting goals for myself.”

The India-Pakistan match is set to take place on October 14th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
