The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team selected by the BCCI on Saturday (August 28). Fast bowler Mayank Yadav also included in the team for the first time.
The first match between India and Bangladesh will take place in Gwalior on October 6. The second match will take place in Delhi on October 9, with the third match scheduled in Hyderabad on October 12. To manage player workload, some players have been rested while others have been added to the squad.
Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh have been included in the squad
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been rested, while Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh have been included in the squad. The omission of Ruturaj Gaikwad is surprising, considering his consistent performances, including in the Duleep Trophy.
Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been included as wicketkeeper-batsmen. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who has been performing well for Kolkata Knight Riders, also returns to the squad, having last played in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Ishan Kishan did not make a return, as he remains out of the BCCI contract. The team includes several all-rounders like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Riyan Parag, and Washington Sundar. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi is also part of the squad against Bangladesh.
