BCCI Central Contracts 2025-26: The BCCI has announced the central contracts for the 2025-26 season, and two big names – Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan – have made a comeback after being left out last time. This update includes a few major promotions, new faces, and some omissions.
Top Category Stays the Same
The A+ category still includes four big names — Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. The only player missing from last year is R Ashwin, who retired from international cricket in 2023.
Rishabh Pant has been promoted from Grade B to Grade A, joining players like KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and others.
New Faces and Big Changes
Shreyas Iyer has been placed in Grade B, alongside Suryakumar Yadav, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Ishan Kishan has been promoted to Grade C.
Several young players, including Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, have been newly added to Grade C.
In contrast, Shardul Thakur, KS Bharat, Avesh Khan, and Jitesh Sharma have been excluded from this year’s contracts.
