Team India’s Return Delayed by Hurricane
After their historic victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Team India’s return home has been eagerly anticipated by fans. The final match was played in Bridgetown, Barbados, where India defeated South Africa by 7 runs on June 29. However, the wait for the team’s return will be longer due to Hurricane Beryl approaching Barbados. The storm has led to the closure of all airports in the area, including Bridgetown, and the cancellation of all flights. As a result, Team India’s original plan to fly to New York from Bridgetown on Sunday has been scrapped.

Changes in Travel Plans
With the airports closed and flights canceled, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revised the travel arrangements. Instead of traveling to New York and then to New Delhi via Dubai, the team will now take a special charter flight directly from Bridgetown to New Delhi. This charter flight will accommodate 70 people, including players, support staff, BCCI officials, and the players’ families. Normally, Team India would first arrive in Mumbai after any foreign tour, but this time they will head straight to New Delhi.

Reception and Celebration Plans
The excitement and joy across India following the T20 World Cup victory have been immense. Fans are now eagerly waiting for Team India’s return to celebrate their success. The BCCI is planning a grand reception for the team in New Delhi, which could include a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This special reception is reminiscent of the celebration in 2011 when the Indian team, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, met with the then President and Prime Minister after their World Cup win.
Team India’s return from Barbados has been delayed due to Hurricane Beryl. The BCCI has arranged a special charter flight to bring the team directly to New Delhi, where a grand reception awaits them. Fans across the country are looking forward to celebrating the team’s historic victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
