Team India may soon get a new head coach. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon invite applications for the new coach. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has given this information. According to a Cricbuzz report, Jay Shah said in Mumbai on Wednesday that the board will soon issue an advertisement for the post of head coach.
The tenure of current head coach Rahul Dravid is ending in June. Jai Shah said Rahul’s tenure is only till June. So if they want to apply they are free to do so.

Other members of the coaching staff such as batting, bowling, and fielding coaches will be selected after consultation with the new coaches, Shah said. He said, “We cannot decide whether the new coach will be an Indian or a foreigner.” Shah confirmed that the new coach will be appointed for a long term and will serve for an initial period of three years.
Currently, the head coach of Team India is Rahul Dravid. BCCI had extended his tenure in November last year. Dravid’s two-year tenure ended with the ODI World Cup final. After this, there was a discussion between the board and Dravid and it was decided that Dravid will remain associated with the team at least till the T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup will be held in West Indies and America in June this year. In November 2021, Rahul Dravid was appointed the head coach of Team India.
