Beth Mooney in WBBL: Australian women’s wicketkeeper-batsman Beth Mooney has created history. She has become the first player in the world to score 5000 runs in the Women’s Big Bash League. 30-year-old Mooney has achieved this special feat in the 34th match of the ongoing season.
While opening the innings against Sydney Sixers Women, she was once again in great form. While opening for the team, she faced a total of 37 balls. Meanwhile, she managed to score 44 runs at a strike rate of 118.92. During this, four fours came off her bat.
Beth Mooney Makes History in Women’s Big Bash League
Beth Mooney achieved this special feat by taking the 43rd run of her innings against Sydney Sixers Women. In the ongoing season, she is making her mark on the field for Perth Scorchers Women. Till the time of writing the news (2015 to 2024), she has played 141 matches in the prestigious league.
Meanwhile, her bat has produced 5001 runs in 140 innings at an average of 46.30. She has three centuries and 43 half-centuries to her name in the Women’s Big Bash League. Here she has scored runs at a strike rate of 125.24.

New Zealand’s female player Sophie Devine comes in third place with 3932 runs. Elise Villani and Meg Lanning are in fourth and fifth positions respectively. These two players have scored 3599 and 3166 runs so far.
