Afghanistan’s Squad Announcement for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

Afghanistan have announced their 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with Rashid Khan to lead the side. Afghanistan have made some changes in their squad compared to the 2022 edition. Karim Janat, Mohammad Ishaq, and Noor Ahmed are the names of the young players on the team. Hashmatullah Shahidi, who led Afghanistan in last year’s ICC ODI World Cup, is not part of the squad. Now former West Indies great and T20 World Cup winner Dwayne Bravo has been announced as the bowling consultant for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup.

Dwayne Bravo: Afghanistan’s New Bowling Consultant

Dwayne Bravo, 40, is a former West Indies medium-fast bowling all-rounder who has played 295 international matches. He has scored 6423 runs and taken 363 wickets. He has played 100 First Class, 227 List A, and 573 Twenty20 matches. He has taken the most wickets in Twenty20 cricket with 625 wickets and has also scored more than 7000 runs. Therefore, the team has got a big boost with this decision of the Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Apart from his international experience as a player, Bravo recently worked as the bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2024. He has won the Twenty20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy with the West Indies and also has titles in the franchise league, IPL, and Caribbean Premier League.
