Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and womenโ€™s opener Smriti Mandhana have been honored with the ICC Player of the Month award for June. This marks the first time that athletes from the same country have won both the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s awards in the same month. In the menโ€™s category, Bumrah was chosen over Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Afghanistanโ€™s Rahmanullah Gurbaz. For the womenโ€™s category, Englandโ€™s Maia Bouchier and Sri Lankaโ€™s Vishmi Gunaratne were also in the running.

Jasprit Bumrahโ€™s impressive performance in the T20 World Cup was a key factor in his win. He played in 8 matches, maintaining an economy rate of 4.17 and taking 15 wickets, making him the second-highest wicket-taker for Team India. He also received the Man of the Series award for his contributions. Upon receiving the ICC Player of the Month award, Bumrah expressed his gratitude and congratulated Rohit Sharma and Rahmanullah Gurbaz for their performances.
