This marks the first time that athletes from the same country have won both the men’s and women’s awards in the same month. In the men’s category, Bumrah was chosen over Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz. For the women’s category, England’s Maia Bouchier and Sri Lanka’s Vishmi Gunaratne were also in the running.
