“Challenges Faced by Bowlers in India Due to Small Boundaries: Pakistani Player’s Perspective”

In the ODI World Cup, the Pakistani team had a successful debut against the Netherlands, but they faced some challenges when playing against the Netherlands again. Despite some struggles, Babar Azam’s team managed to win by 81 runs, though the bowling performance disappointed the fans. Pakistan’s next match will be against Sri Lanka. Mohammad Nawaz, a Pakistan player, shared his thoughts ahead of the upcoming match in an interview with PCB Digital.

Nawaz mentioned that starting the tournament with a victory is important. Pakistan had two practice matches in India, and the team supported each other well. They won against the Netherlands and hope to continue this winning streak. In the previous match, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel had a good partnership, while Nawaz and Shadab Khan tried to push the innings forward. They stayed on the pitch until the 45th and 46th overs, but unfortunately, they couldn’t do better. Still, they managed to contribute to the team’s score.

In the match against the Netherlands, Pakistan scored 286 runs in 49 overs. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel both scored 68 runs, contributing significantly. However, the Netherlands’ Bas de Leede performed well in both bowling and batting, taking four wickets and helping restrict Pakistan to 286 runs. The Netherlands team, chasing a target of 287 runs, was bowled out for just 205 runs in 41 overs. Bas de Leede fought hard with a score of 67 off 68 balls but couldn’t lead the team to victory.

Mohammad Nawaz also mentioned that most of India’s pitches favour batsmen because of the small boundaries, making it challenging for bowlers. However, the team is working to adapt to the conditions. Nawaz expressed confidence in his bowling performance in the last match, which will boost his confidence.
