Champion Trophy: The BCCI has already said that Team India will not visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. In such a situation, now ICC and PCB have only two options, either the tournament will be played without India or played on the hybrid model.
PCB Proposes Hybrid Model for Champions Trophy
However, now the Pakistan Cricket Board has said that its team should not be sent to India for the next few ICC events and adopted the hybrid model. Apart from this, PCB has also laid down some conditions in which there is also talk of a tri-series with India.
According to ESPNcricinfo, a meeting was held on Thursday 5 December between the new ICC president Jai Shah and PCB President Mohsin Naqvi. In this meeting, the Pakistan Champions Trophy agreed to get it done on the basis of the hybrid model, but for this, they have laid down some conditions.

PCBโs Conditions for ICC Events
As per reports from ESPNcricinfo, PCB President Mohsin Naqvi and ICC Chairman Jay Shah held a meeting on December 5. The PCB agreed to the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy but placed key conditions:
- Pakistanโs team will not visit India for ICC events until 2027.
- All ICC tournaments hosted in India, including the 2025 Womenโs ODI World Cup and the 2026 Menโs T20 World Cup, must also follow the hybrid model.
Additionally, PCB has suggested a tri-series involving India, Pakistan, and a third country as a way to compensate for any financial loss due to separate venues for Indiaโs matches.
Final Decision Awaited
On these conditions, more interactions between the two boards and the ICC are likely to be held, and the final decision will be taken in the board meeting to be held on December 7. Let me tell you, the Champions Trophy can begin on February 19 next year. The ICC can also announce the schedule after this meeting.
