This team, led by interim players, includes 13 players, none of whom are currently part of Australia’s Test team.

By keeping key players out of the T20 series, Australia aims to be at full strength to avoid a home Test series loss to India.

Candidates for the Captain’s Role
Although Australia’s regular T20 captain, Mitchell Marsh, is resting for the Pakistan series to prepare for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, this opens the door for other candidates. Jos Inglis, Adam Zampa, and Matthew Short are being considered for the T20 captaincy.
