Cricket Australia has made a big decision regarding left-handed batsman David Warner. CA has lifted the lifetime captaincy ban on Warner. This means that Warner will now be seen captaining his team Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. Warner’s Ball-Tampering Scandal in 2018
David Warner was found guilty of ball tampering in the Cape Town Test match on the South Africa tour in 2018. Due to this, he was banned for one year from playing and a lifetime ban from captaincy. Warner was the vice-captain of the Australian team at that time.
The panel said in its statement that Warner presented his point very respectfully, which impressed all three. The panel said, “David Warner’s response was respectful and there was remorse in his language. Apart from this, the panel was unanimously impressed by what he said.
His behavior has been excellent after the ban. This shows that he has made a lot of changes in himself. An example of this is that he does not sledge anyone now nor does he provoke anyone with his behavior.” The panel further said, “The review panel is satisfied that what Warner did in the year 2018 will not be done again. Therefore, the lifetime ban on him regarding captaincy is lifted.”
