Mohammed Siraj Wickets: Dismisses Joe Root and Ben Stokes Back-to-Back

Mohammed Siraj Wickets: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj gave Team India a brilliant start on Day 3 of the second Test against England at Edgbaston. With back-to-back wickets in the same over, Siraj turned the match in India’s favour early in the day.

Mohammed Siraj dismissed England’s star batsman Joe Root and captain Ben Stokes, who fell for a golden duck.

Mohammed Siraj Wickets Shake England in 2nd Test

Siraj came in with an aggressive approach on the third morning and reaped quick rewards. In the 22nd over of England’s innings, Siraj first dismissed Joe Root on the third ball. Root tried to flick a good-length delivery but was caught behind by Rishabh Pant. He was out after scoring 22 runs.

The big moment arrived when, on the very next delivery, Siraj bowled a short ball to Ben Stokes. The England captain couldn’t handle the pace and edged the ball directly to Pant. Stokes was dismissed for a golden duck, which added further pressure to the already struggling English team.

Siraj’s Double Blow Puts India on Top

This fiery spell from Mohammed Siraj left England reeling at 130/5 in 29 overs. Siraj’s sharp pace and bounce made it difficult for the batters to settle. His wicket-taking ability once again proved why he is a key bowler in India’s pace attack.

At the crease, Harry Brook (51)* and Jamie Smith (25)* were fighting to rescue England from collapse. But Siraj’s double strike gave India the upper hand in the early session.
