The International Olympic Association convention in Mumbai officially added cricket to the Los Angeles Olympics 2028. The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved the organizing committee’s proposal on Friday, making it almost certain. The IOC session in Mumbai held the vote, making the decision official.

After the vote, Thomas Bach mentioned that two IOC members opposed the proposal, and one member abstained. All the others supported the proposal. In addition to cricket, the proposal also included other sports like softball, flag football, squash, and lacrosse for the Olympics.
