IND vs SA 3rd ODI – After comfortably winning the first match, the host team South Africa bounced back to defeat India by eight wickets in the second match, leveling the series 1-1.
The upcoming third ODI, the final match of the series, will take place today, offering both teams an opportunity to claim victory and clinch the series.
India has been playing ODI series against Africa since 1991-92, securing a series win on this country’s soil only once, back in 2018.
The current series presents a favorable chance for India to secure their second series win, but a strong start from the opening pair is crucial.
Rituraj Gaikwad and Sai Sudarshan struggled in the initial matches, with Gaikwad scoring only five and four runs.
Mukesh Kumar’s Struggle in Bowling –
Bowling-wise, Mukesh Kumar’s inability to claim a wicket in the last two matches is a concern. Although Arshdeep and Avesh Khan led India to victory in the first ODI with nine wickets, Mukesh conceded easy runs in both games. His performance will be pivotal for India’s success.
Opportunity for Yuzvendra Chahal –
The veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, returning to the team after an extended absence, didn’t get a chance in the first two matches.
Rahul has shown confidence in Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar Patel but might consider Chahal for the third match.
His tour might end without a game if not included, despite his impressive performances for Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
