Deepti Sharma Climbs to No.2 in ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings – Just 4 Points Behind No.1

ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings: Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has achieved a big milestone by moving up to the second spot in the latest ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings. She now has 732 points, sharing the position with Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal. Australia’s Annabel Sutherland is currently on top with 736 points — just four points ahead of Deepti.

What makes this achievement even more special is that Sutherland hasn’t played a T20I since March. Her earlier four-wicket spell against New Zealand and the drop in points of other bowlers helped her stay at the top. Sadia Iqbal, the former No.1, could manage only three wickets in the recent Ireland series, where Pakistan lost 1-2, causing her points to fall.

Deepti Sharma Rises to Second in ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings

Deepti is also performing well as an all-rounder, holding the third spot with 387 points. She is behind West Indies’ Hayley Matthews (505) and New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr (434).

India saw some ups and downs in the batting charts. Smriti Mandhana slipped from the top spot to second place with 728 points, just three points behind new No.1 Nat Sciver-Brunt of England (731 points). On the brighter side, captain Harmanpreet Kaur made a strong jump, climbing 10 spots to reach 11th position, putting her close to the top-10.

In the global scene, Ireland’s young all-rounder Orla Prendergast achieved her career-best 19th ranking after a standout series against Pakistan. She scored 144 runs and took four wickets, helping Ireland secure a historic 2-1 series win.

India’s Strong Prospects Ahead

With Deepti Sharma just a few points away from the No.1 bowling rank, India’s presence at the top of the ICC charts remains strong. Mandhana continues to be a top contender in batting, while Deepti shines in both bowling and all-rounder categories. If India’s star players maintain their form, they could dominate multiple ranking lists in the upcoming months.
