Laika Kings’ Struggle with the Bat
Batting first, Laika Kings found it challenging to handle Dindigul’s strong bowling attack. Despite their efforts, the Kings struggled to build a substantial inning. Sujay scored 22 runs, Ram Arvind contributed 27 runs, and Adeeq ur Rehman added 25 runs, helping their team reach a total of 129 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Dindigul bowlers Sandeep Warrier, Varun Chakraborty, and Vignesh each took 2 wickets, keeping the Kings in check.
Ashwin Leads Dindigul to Victory
Chasing a target of 130 runs, Dindigul Dragons had a shaky start as openers Vimal Kumar and Shivam Singh were dismissed for 9 and 4 runs, respectively. However, captain Ravichandran Ashwin and Baba Indrajith steadied the innings with responsible batting. Ashwin played a crucial role, scoring 52 runs and crossing the half-century mark, guiding his team towards victory. Baba Indrajith supported with a solid 32 runs before being dismissed.

Ashwin’s determined batting led the Dragons to their target, and they finished with 131 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 18.2 overs. This impressive performance secured a 6-wicket win for Dindigul Dragons, marking their first championship win in the TNPL.
