The TNPL cricket series reached an exciting stage with the eliminator match between Chepak Super Gillies and Dindigul Dragons. Dindigul won the toss and chose to bowl first. Chepak’s opening players, Santosh Kumar and Jagatheesan, took the field, but Santosh was quickly dismissed for just 1 run. Jagatheesan and Aparajith then played steadily until Jagatheesan was dismissed for 25 runs. Pradosh (19), Daryl Ferrario (4), and Siddharth (7) followed but couldn’t make significant contributions

Aparajith and Abhishek Tanwar’s Late Surge
In the latter part of the innings, Aparajith and Abhishek Tanwar provided a much-needed boost. Aparajith scored a commendable 72 runs, while Tanwar added 22 runs, helping Chepak reach a total of 158 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Dindigul’s Successful Chase
Chasing a target of 159, Dindigul Dragons had a shaky start as opener Vimal Kumar was dismissed for just 3 runs. However, Shivam Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin steadied the innings. Singh scored 64 runs off 49 balls, and Ashwin contributed a quick 57 runs off 35 balls. Despite losing a few more wickets, with Sarathkumar and Suboth Bhatti adding 12 and 14 runs respectively, Dindigul managed to chase down the target

Dindigul Advances, Chepak Eliminated
Dindigul Dragons won the match by four wickets, scoring 161 runs in 19.5 overs. With this victory, they advanced to the second qualifier round, where they will face Tirupur Tamilans. The winner of this match will play against Coimbatore Laika Kings in the final on August 4. Chepak Super Gillies, having lost in the eliminator round, are now out of the current TNPL series.
