England Announces Squad for New Zealand Tour After Pakistan Series Loss
Pakistan, led by Shan Masood, won the 3-match Test series at home against England. England won the first match and took the lead in the series. But then the selection committee changed the team for the second and third matches and a miracle happened.
Pakistan won both matches in a row to win the series. Pakistani team won the series 2-1. Pakistan also won a Test series at home after 3 years. After losing the series against Pakistan, now England will play the next Test series against New Zealand. The England Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for this series. England Cricket has given information about this through social media.
Ben Stokes will lead England. The selection committee has shown faith in the players for the series against Pakistan. But only 1 change has been made. Jacob Bethel has been included. The wicketkeeper-batsman Jamie Smith will soon have a small guest at his house. So Jamie Smith has not been included in the New Zealand tour. Hence, Jordan Cox has been included as the wicketkeeper.
The 3-match series between New Zealand and England will begin on November 28. The opening match will be played in Christchurch. The second match will be played in Wellington on December 6. The third and final match will be played in Hamilton from December 14. This series is going to be very important for both the teams as it counts towards the World Test Championship final.
