The England squad for the T20 World Cup to be played in West Indies and America in June has been announced. The England Cricket Board (ECB) announced the 15-member squad on Tuesday.

Jos Buttler will be the captain. Fast bowler Jofra Archer has returned to the team. Archer was sidelined for a long time due to injury.

South Africa is part of Group B in T20 World Cup 2024. The opening match of the tournament will be between Canada and the home team USA. The match will be held in Dallas on June 2. The first match in the history of cricket was also played in 1844 between America and Canada. England’s first match will be against Scotland on June 4.

England has won the T20 World Cup twice

The South African team has not been able to win the World Cup so far. Team India won the first ever tournament in 2007. Apart from India, Pakistan, Australia and Sri Lanka have also won the title 1 time each. West Indies (2012 and 2016) and England (2010 and 2022) have won the T20 World Cup trophy twice each. The tournament has been played 8 times so far, the 9th edition of the tournament will be played in America and West Indies.
