Faf du Plessis was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his remarkable batting, but he won everyone’s heart by praising another player.
After the match was over, during the post-match ceremony, Faf du Plessis commended Mohammad Siraj’s excellent performance in the powerplay. He said that,
Siraj kept the pressure on the batsmen in the initial overs, with his accurate line and length not giving the batsmen a chance to open their hands. Although the team still needs to work with their bowlers in the last two-three overs, Mohammad Siraj bowling played a crucial role in winning the match for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Further, Faf du Plessis mentioned Virat Kohli and stated,
“I am playing here for the first time as a domestic player, especially batting with Virat Kohli. He plays with energy, and you have to keep up with the youth. I still work hard so that I can play like the youth. We are all confident players. This start will be significant for us as a team.”
