Finland vs Lithuania Preview – Match Preview

Finland’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup are very low right now. They are in 3rd place in Group G with seven points, and only three matches are left to play.

In March, Finland beat Malta 1-0 away, and a few days later they drew 2-2 with Lithuania in Kaunas. Their first defeat came in early June when they lost 2-0 at home to the Netherlands. However, they bounced back quickly with a 2-1 win over a strong Polish side in Helsinki.

In their latest match in early September, Finland lost 3-1 to Poland, with Benjamin Kallman scoring a late goal in the 88th minute.

Lithuania are still without a win in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. They are in 4th place in Group G with three points from five matches.

After a 1-0 loss to Poland in their opening match, Lithuania played three straight draws — 2-2 against Finland, and 1-1 and 0-0 against Malta.

In their most recent game in early September, the Yellow and Greens played well at home against the Netherlands but still lost 3-2, with Gvidas Gineitis and Edvinas Girdvainis scoring for them.

Lithuania – Balanced scoring (Jokubaitis, Tubelis, others) – Strong defense, limited Finland’s scoring – Effective offensive rebounds – Key injury concern: Rokas Jokubaitis – Possible dependency on balanced performance

Finland vs Lithuania Match Prediction

Finland can remain in the race for the top two spots if they win this match. Lithuania are one of the weaker teams in the group and have no chance to qualify, so a home win looks like a safe bet. Betting on Finland to win without conceding a goal is also a good option.
