Indian star batter Virat Kohli is not in very good form in Test Format. He has made only one 50+ score in his last 8 innings. however, he became the fastest batsman to score 27000 international runs. He broke the Sachin Tendulkar record of 27000 runs in 623 innings. Kohli took 594 innings to score 27000 runs.
Virat Kohli’s Form Not a Concern, Says India Head Coach Gautam Gambhir
Virat Kohli is one of the finest batsmen of the modern era he should not be judged based on his current form. He played some good shots during 2nd test match against Bangladesh which hinted at a possible comeback.
Gautam Gambhir Said,
See, my thoughts about Virat have always been very clear that he is a world-class cricketer. He has performed for such a long period of time. He is as hungry as when he made his debut. To now, his hunger is always there,”
“You don’t keep judging people after every game. If you keep judging people after every game, that’s not fair on them. It’s a sport and people are bound to fail. But more importantly, I think if we can get the results, if people are doing what is needed of them to get the results in our favour, that is fine,”
Kohli scored just 99 runs in his 4 innings against Bangladesh but in his last inning, he remained unbeaten at 39 runs in 29 balls helping the team to chase down the target in this inning he seemed to be in good touch. Virat Kohli is currently practising in net for the upcoming test series against New Zealand in Banglore.
Virat Kohli’s good form is also very important from the Border Gavaskar trophy point of view. He is the backbone of the batting lineup. In the absence of Rohit Sharma in the 1st Test match Team India heavily relied upon Virat Kohli.
