Indian coach Gautam Gambhir Defends Rohit and Virat. Both are currently struggling with poor form. They are facing criticism following their underwhelming performances in the home Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand as well as the crushing 1-3 defeat against Australia in the Border Gavaskar series. Currently, both the players are busy preparing for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

During the BCCI Awards Ceremony 2025, Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir supported Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and emphasised their significance to the team. He highlighted their vital contributions, not just on the field but also in the dressing room. He said both the players play an important key role for the team.

Gautam Gambhir said, “Both the main players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play an important role in the dressing room. They have a different status in Indian cricket. I am sure both players and the rest of the team, will be completely hungry.”
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are part of the three-match ODI series against England. The first ODI will be held on February 6 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. This series is very important for both teams in view of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. In this series, both the teams can improve their performance and remove personnel.
Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were included in India’s ODI team in August last year, where the ‘Men in Blue’ suffered a 0-2 defeat to Sri Lanka’s spin attack in the island nation.
