Gautam Gambhir Faces Criticism for Promoting Betting App

Former Indian team opener and recent coach Gautam Gambhir is in the news for one of his tweets. Gambhir’s name comes among those players who always speak against wrong advertisements.

Gautam Gambhir has also spoken openly against the advertisements of pan masala companies. Gambhir had also expressed his displeasure over the pan masala companies sponsoring the Legend League tournament. Not only this, before this he has also criticised legendary players like Sunil Gavaskar, Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag.

Gambhir had also raised questions on Sourav Ganguly for promoting a betting app when he was the BCCI president. He had said that if a great player like Sourav Ganguly promotes such things, then it gives a very wrong message to society. However, recently, Gambhir himself tweeted promoting a betting app, which has made cricket fans criticize him. Many fans have called him a hypocrite. Gautam Gambhir tweeted about the Real11 Fantasy App on his Twitter handle.

Gambhir considers Sachin Tendulkar as his idol. On many media channels, he said that Sachin Tendulkar had promised his father that he would never do advertisement for any pan masala company. In such a situation, the promotion of a batting up done by Gambhir is not being accepted by the fans.

However, till now no reaction has been seen from Gambhir on this.
