Ajit Agarkar Explains Team Selection
Karun Nair, who played his last match for Team India in March 2017, batted brilliantly in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He finished the tournament with 779 runs and an average of 389.50.

However, this did not happen, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar admitted that Karun Nair played brilliantly, but it was very difficult to fit everyone in the team. “I mean, this is a special performance and I mean for a player who has an average of 700+, 750+ or something like that, we have talked about it, there is no doubt when such performances happen.
At the moment, it is very difficult to find a place in this team,” Agarkar said in the press conference after the team selection.
