Haris Rauf on IND vs PAK Clash: Pakistan faces a must-win clash against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. After a disappointing defeat against New Zealand, Pakistan needs a victory to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
โWe Aim to Make It Threeโ โ Haris Rauf Backs Pakistan to Beat India Again in Dubai
Despite the pressure, Haris Rauf remains confident. Speaking before Fridayโs practice session at the ICC Academy, he said,
โWe have beaten India twice in Dubai, and we aim to make it three. We are confident and ready for a great contest.โ
Pakistan previously defeated India in Dubai during the 2021 T20 World Cup (by 10 wickets) and the 2022 Asia Cup Super Four stage (by 5 wickets). However, India has historically dominated ODI ICC events, making this encounter even more challenging for Pakistan.

Haris Rauf Focused on IND vs PAK Clash, Not Past Mistakes
Following their loss to New Zealand, Rauf stressed that the team is focused on correcting their mistakes and moving forward.
โWhatโs past is past. We are concentrating on the India game, addressing our mistakes, and ensuring we donโt repeat them. Itโs a do-or-die match, and we must win to stay in contention for the semifinals.โ
Despite the high stakes, Rauf assured that Pakistanโs team remains positive.
โThe boys are upbeat. We will give our best in all departmentsโbatting, bowling, and fielding. There is no extra pressure; we are treating this as just another match.โ
Pitch Conditions and Raufโs Fitness Update
Rauf also emphasized that pitch conditions will play a crucial role.
โThe pitch can sometimes favour spin. We will assess the track and plan accordingly for each batsman.โ
Regarding concerns over his fitness after conceding 83 runs against New Zealand, Rauf dismissed any doubts.
โYou saw the game, I bowled all 10 overs. My fitness is fine.โ
Pakistan has faced injury setbacks, with Fakhar Zaman ruled out and Saim Ayub missing the tournament. However, Rauf remains focused, saying,
โInjuries happen. You can get hurt even while walking. Itโs unfortunate, but the team is ready. Fans can expect a great match.โ
Pakistan will be looking to make history in Dubai once again, and Raufโs pace attack could be key in their battle against India.
