India has a chance to win the ICC trophy after ten years, and Rohit Sharma’s fans are confident in his leadership for this. But Rohit knows that picking the team for this World Cup is really tough. The tournament starts on October 5 with a match between New Zealand and England.
In an interview before the Asia Cup, Rohit said, “I keep myself relaxed and don’t think too much about what’s going on outside, whether good or bad. I want to ignore it all. I want to go back to how I felt before the 2019 World Cup. I got ready really well for that tournament.” In the 2019 World Cup, Rohit scored the most with 648 runs, including 5 centuries.
“I’m feeling good and positive. I want to get back to playing, and I have time. I’m trying to remember how I was before the 2019 World Cup, as a player and a person. I want to go back to that mindset,” added the captain.
Rohit thinks it’s important to “keep an open mind” and listen to what others are saying. “No, I don’t like this person, so I’m dropping him. Captaincy isn’t about personal likes or dislikes. “I felt down and sat in my room. I didn’t know what to do next. I remember Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) invited me to his room and took me out for dinner. He told me how it feels when you’re left out. He said, ‘The good thing is you have many years ahead. While we’re playing the World Cup, use this time to work hard. You’ll definitely play for India and in the World Cup.’ I worked hard and came back right after the World Cup. This is me, who went through this feeling,” Rohit shared.
