Tomorrow, 3 veterans will be honoured with the ICC Hall of Fame honour in the honour ceremony held in Sydney. A woman cricketer is also included in the ICC Hall of Fame honours given to 3 veterans on 9 November.
New Hall of Fame veterans has been announced by the ICC today. So far ICC Hall of Fame awards have been given to 106 cricketers. After three more veterans joined this list, this list has become 109 people now. Today on Tuesday, November 8, 3 people have been included in this list, in which one from West Indies, one English and one Pakistani cricketer has made their place.
This process has been issued after a voting process. Current Hall of Famers, media representatives and senior officials of FICA and ICC, former West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, former England women’s cricketer Charlotte Edwards and former Pakistan spinner Abdul Qadir have been selected for the Hall of Fame award. The order of these players on the list of Hall of Fame numbers is 107, 108 and 109.
Talking about the ICC Hall of Fame is given to those players who have taken retirement and they have left an indelible mark in the cricket world. Players who have achieved different achievements in the cricket world are the claimants of this honour. The three selected players have left a lasting legacy through their significant contributions to the sport. They will be honoured at a special presentation ceremony ahead of the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday 9 November.
ICC Chief Executive Officer Geoff Allardyce said, “The ICC Hall of Fame is given to those distinguished individuals who have made a new contribution to the cricket world. Thus only the best players are entitled to get this honour. The enduring contributions of Shivnarayan, Charlotte and AbdulUnforgettable in cricket. These three ambassadors of our great sport have had tremendous success on the international stage and they massively deserve their status as ICC Hall of Famers.”
