ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025: All You Need to Know

ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup: Cricket fans are on one side looking forward to the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament.
On the other hand, the Under 19 Women’s World Cup 2025 is starting on Saturday 18th of January. A total of 16 teams have participated in this tournament.
Exciting Start to ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025
These 16 teams have been divided into 4 groups according to 4-4. Malaysia has the honour of hosting this tournament. This is the first time for Malaysia to host an ICC tournament after 17 years. A total of 41 matches will be played in 16 days.
A total of 6 matches will be played on the first day of the tournament. The final match will be played on February 2.
This is the first time that both Nigeria and Samoa are playing in the Under-19 Women’s World Cup. A total of 41 matches will be played in 16 days in 16 teams.
Each team will play a 1-1 match against the other 3 teams in the league round. The top 3 teams from each group (total 12) will then qualify for the Super 12.

ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Tournament Schedule
Teams and Format
- Group A: India, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Malaysia
- Group B: Pakistan, Ireland, England, USA
- Group C: South Africa, New Zealand, Nigeria, Samoa
- Group D: Australia, Scotland, Bangladesh, Nepal
Each team will play three league matches. The top three teams from each group (12 teams) advance to the Super 12 stage. From there, Group B and Group C teams will form one group, while Group A and Group D teams will form another.
The top teams from these groups will qualify for the semi-finals on January 31. The final will determine the champion on February 2.
After that the teams from Group B and Group C (a total of 6) will be placed in one group and the teams from Group A and Group D will be placed in another group (a total of 6).
The top teams from both groups will then qualify for the semi-finals. Both the semi-final matches will be played on January 31. The winning team will be decided after the result of the final match on February 2.
Defending Champions: Team India
This is the second time the U-19 Women’s World Cup is being organized. Earlier in this tournament held in 2023, Team India defeated England and won the first-ever Women’s World Cup. Team India achieved this feat under the leadership of Shafali Verma.
