ICC’s big announcement; Women’s and men’s teams will get equal prize money

The International Cricket Council (ICC) made a big announcement today. now of the ICC Men’s and women’s teams will receive equal prize money in the tournament and the over-rate rule in Test cricket will also be changed. Held in Durban, South Africa of the ICC This decision was taken during the annual conference. Teams will now receive the same amount of prize money for their position in ICC tournaments as well as the same amount for winning matches in those tournaments. 

“This is an important moment in the history of our game and I am delighted that men’s and women’s cricketers competing in ICC world events will now be awarded equal prize money,” said ICC President Greg Barclay. 

Since 2017 we have increased the prize money in the women’s competitions every year with an eye on reaching the same prize money. Henceforth, winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will have the same prize money as winning the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The same will be the rule in Twenty20 World Cup and Under-19 World Cup.  

“Cricket is truly a game for all and this decision by the ICC Board reinforces this. We are able to equally honor and appreciate the contribution of every player to the game,” he added. ICC Women’s Twenty20 World Cup 2020 & 2023 The winners and runners-up in 

Changes in over-rate rules 

The Chief Executive Committee has approved changes to over-rate restrictions in Test cricket to strike a balance between maintaining over-rates and ensuring fair income for players. Under the revised rules, which will come into effect from the start of the current World Test Championship cycle, players will be fined 5% of their match fee for each over-dropped, with a maximum penalty capped at 50%.
