After losing the toss, the Sri Lankan team decided to bowl first the Indian team scored 150 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. After that, India bowled out Sri Lanka for 109 runs in 18.2 overs. Hemlata took three and Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma took two wickets each.
In batting, Jemimah Rodrigues played the highest innings of 76 runs for the Indian team. She hit 11 fours and a six in 53 balls at a strike rate of 143.40. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 33 runs in 30 balls. There was a great partnership of 92 runs between the two batsmen in India’s innings.
Sri Lanka women’s cricket team won the toss and decided to bowl first against the Indian women’s cricket team in their opening match of the Asia Cup 2022 T20 tournament. After losing the toss, Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma opened the inning. India lost their first wicket in the form of Smriti Mandhana for six runs in the third over. On the score of 6 runs, Sugandhika Kumari showed the way to the pavilion to Smriti Mandhana.

Deepti Sharma returned to the pavilion in the fourth over by getting caught by Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu Renuka Singh. Chamari could only score 5 runs in 11 balls. She hit 1 four in the innings. Richa Ghosh got hurt while catching the Sri Lankan captain.
Deepti’s direct throw has given India second success. She dismissed Malsha Snehani and sent her to the pavilion. Malsha scored 9 runs. Another Sri Lankan player has been run out. Harshita Samarawickrama was dismissed for 26 runs off 20 balls. India has got the third success in this way. Sri Lanka lost their 4 wickets to 56 runs in 9 overs.
