IND vs AUS 1st Test: Team India’s first innings ended in the second session on the first day of the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Team India’s batsmen were ineffective against Australia’s penetrating and sharp bowling. The Indian Team could not even play 50 overs. Team India’s innings ended with 150 runs in 49.4 overs.
Nitish and Pant Shine Amid Batting Collapse
Debutants Nitish Reddy and Rishabh Pant both kept Team India in shame. Due to the innings of these two, Team India could reach the mark of 150 runs. But other batsmen failed.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel reached double figures from Team India. Nitish scored 41 runs in 59 balls with 1 six and 6 fours.
Rishabh Pant scored 37 runs off 78 balls with 3 sixes and 1 four. Dhruv Jurel scored 11 runs. While KL Rahul was playing steadily. However, due to the controversial decision of the third umpire, KL had to leave the field. KL scored 26 runs off 74 balls with 3 fours.
Both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal could not even crack a pumpkin. Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar were both disappointed. Virat scored 5 runs and Sundar scored 4 runs. Debutant Harshit Rana scored 7 runs while captain Jasprit Bumrah scored 8 runs.
Mohammad Siraj returned unbeaten without playing a single ball. Josh Hazlewood took the most wickets from Australia with 4 wickets. Mitchell Starc, captain Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh took 2 wickets each.
