But the Indian batsmen could not judge the captain’s decision. Team India’s batsmen surrendered in front of Australia’s bowlers.
Bumrah’s Hat-Trick of Wickets Puts Australia on the Backfoot
Team India made a strong counterattack. Team India, who came to bat in the third session, pushed Australia on the back foot by giving 3 blows in quick succession.
Jasprit Bumrah alone dismissed all three of Australia. Bumrah gave Australia their first blow by dismissing debutant Nathan McSweeney for 10 runs. Bumrah then hit 2 in 2 consecutive balls to put Australia completely on the back foot.

Bumrah dismissed both Usman Khawaja and Steven Smith on the fourth and fifth balls of the seventh over respectively. Usman Khawaja was caught out by Virat Kohli for 8 runs. Bumrah did not even open an account for Steven Smith. LBW to Smith on the first ball. As a result, Australia’s position became 19 for 3.
Then in the 12th over of Australia’s innings, debutant Harshit Rana hunted Travis Head to get the first wicket. Rana clean bowled the head off stump.
