ICC Fines Siraj: Many things made headlines in the recently concluded Adelaide Test. Apart from the result, fans will always remember Travis Head’s brilliant century.
While Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah also showed their strength with the ball, apart from all these things, the thing that was discussed a lot after the match was over was the clash on the field between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head.
ICC Penalizes Mohammed Siraj for Aggressive Behavior
After the century-making Head was out, the echo of the “word war” that took place between the two players reached from the press conference to the former cricketers as well.
Then it seemed that even if Head could be saved for once, Siraj would not be able to escape from the match referee because Siraj showed such aggression in some other incidents, which did not make any sense. Anyway, now after presenting the side of both the players on the incident, the match referee announced the punishment.
The match referee has found the Indian pacer guilty of violating rule 2.5 of the ICC’s code of conduct. Under this, there is “abusive language, action or such an act which can provoke the batsman to react aggressively when he is out.
” The match referee has imposed a fine of 20 per cent of the match fee on Siraj. And this amount will hurt Siraj a lot. This is the amount, which used to be a 100 per cent fee for a single match till a few years ago.
