IND vs NZ: Team India’s Struggles Against New Zealand, 6 Wickets Down for Just 34 Runs, Rohit and Virat Fail to Score

Team India's Struggles on Day Two of the 1st Test

Team India’s Struggles on Day Two of the 1st Test

What happened to the batsmen of Team India? Such a question is now being raised. Team India is in trouble on the second day of the first Test against New Zealand. The first day of the first match between the two teams was lost due to rain. So the next day was tossed. Team India won the toss and captain Rohit Sharma decided to bat. But New Zealand completely pushed Team India on the back foot by giving 6 blows in the first session. Not only this, four out of six of Team India could not even crack a pumpkin. Ravindra Jadeja’s India lost the sixth wicket at 34 and the first session was over. So now Team India is all out within 100 runs or what? Such fears are being expressed.

New Zealand quickly dismissed captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Sarfraz Khan and showed them the way out of the field. Out of these three, Virat and Sarfraz could not even crack a pumpkin. Team Southee blew the leg stump of Rohit Sharma and gave the first blow to Team India. This was the third time Southee dismissed Rohit in a Test. Rohit returned to the tent after scoring 2 runs in 16 balls.

After Rohit, Virat Kohli came to bat at the third position. This is Virat’s home ground in IPL. So a good innings was expected from Virat. But it was only an expectation. Kohli could not even crack a pumpkin. Virat played 8 balls. Virat got out on the ninth ball. William O’Rourke caught Virat at the hands of Glenn Phillips. This was Virat’s 38th wicket in international cricket

Disappointment for Sarfraz Khan

Sarfraz Khan was given a chance to replace Shubman Gill in this match. Sarfaraz was expected to have a good innings as he scored a double century in the Irani Trophy. Also taking 2 wickets in quick succession had a big responsibility on him. But Sarfraz was out at the sound of hitting. Sarfraz came forward and hit a big shot from mid-off and was caught out on zero. Devon Conway took a wonderful catch. With Sarfraz out, Team India is in a precarious position of 10 for 3
