Opening Partnership and Yashasvi’s Achievement
India’s opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Rohit Sharma started aggressively. Rohit and Yashasvi made an opening partnership of 34 runs. Rohit failed to make a big knock in the second inning as well. Rohit got out after scoring 8 runs. But Yashasvi did a great feat in the meantime.
Successfully became the first Indian bowler to score 1000 runs in test cricket at home. Yashasvi did this by getting 1 run off the second ball in the 5th over of the second innings. Yashasvi also broke the records of former explosive opener Virender Sehwag and current captain Rohit Sharma. Yashasvi scored 1000 runs in very few balls compared to Sehwag and Rohit.
