IND vs PAK Babar Azam Statement
IND vs PAK Babar Azam: After the group stage matches in Asia Cup 2023, India and Pakistan are preparing to face each other for the second time. The Super 4 round match on September 10th in Colombo promises to be an exciting contest. Pakistan’s team captain, Babar Azam, has made a bold statement about this match. He said that our team is quite strong against India.
Speaking at a press conference before the Super 4 round match, Babar Azam said,
“The Pakistan team has been playing matches in Sri Lanka continuously for two months, which has been very beneficial. According to Babar Azam, those who have been playing continuously in these conditions are well-acquainted with the pitch here. He mentioned that they played Test matches here, had a series against Afghanistan, and also participated in the Lanka Premier League. In this regard, we can say that we have an advantage.”
Babar Azam also mentioned that the weather in Colombo is clear, and there is no possibility of rain. While there are some things beyond our control, our focus will be on things we can control. We are fully prepared for this mega contest.
During the group stage match between India and Pakistan, rain had interrupted the game. Due to rain on September 2nd, Pakistan’s team couldn’t bat in the second innings. Both teams had to settle for one point each. Seeing the high-voltage clash, ACC has kept a reserve day for this match.
India’s inconsistent performance:
In the group stage matches, the Indian team’s top order did not perform well. While Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli struggled, Shubman Gill faced a similar fate. Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya stabilised the innings, sharing a partnership of 137 runs for the fifth wicket. Pakistan displayed excellent bowling, and all of India’s wickets fell. This was the first instance in the history of the Asia Cup where all 10 wickets in a match were taken by fast bowlers.
