Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock opened the innings as South Africa’s opening pair. Arshdeep dismissed Temba Bavuma (0) and Rally Russo (0) in his first and second overs of the innings. The match was stopped in the third over due to floodlight failure, the match was stalled for about half an hour.

Suryakumar Yadav led the innings along with Virat Kohli and started batting in a fast fashion as soon as he arrived, he meanwhile completed his 1000 runs in his T20 International career, he is the third batsman to score the fastest international T20 runs. Surya rained runs on Kagiso Rabada in the 15th over, in which he hit 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Suryakumar Yadav’s half-century was the second fastest half-century by an Indian batsman in T20 Internationals. Virat Kohli was 1 run away from his half-century, he scored an unbeaten 49. In 28 balls, Virat hit 1 six and 7 fours in this innings. Team India scored 237 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.
