In this series against Zimbabwe, Gill scored a total of 170 runs at an average of 42.50 and a strike rate of 125.93, including 2 half-centuries. This performance placed him behind Virat Kohli, who scored 231 runs in a 5-match T20 series against England in 2021. Suryakumar Yadav had previously held the record with 144 runs as captain in a series against Australia in 2023.
