Team India Prepares for Zimbabwe Tour

After their triumphant T20 World Cup win, Team India is gearing up for a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The series will begin on July 6 and conclude on July 14. Shubman Gill has been appointed as the captain for this tour. However, significant changes have been made to the squad for the first two matches.

Squad Changes for Initial Matches

To ensure the well-being of key players from the T20 World Cup squad, the BCCI has decided to rest Sanju Samson, Shivam Dubey, and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first two matches. In their place, Sai Sudarshan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana have been included in the squad. This decision was made considering the delayed return of the World Cup players from Barbados, where they were stranded due to Hurricane Beryl. The new additions, Sai Sudarshan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana, have been selected based on their impressive performances in the IPL.
