IND-W vs SCO-W: India and Scotland faced each other in the Super Six round of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. In this match, the toss went in favour of Scotland

India’s Aggressive Batting Sets Big Total

The Scotland captain decided to bowl first and that’s where the mistake happened. Because India started aggressively while batting first. Gongadi Trisha and G. Kamalini made a partnership of 147 runs for the first wicket. That’s where the back of the Scotland team was broken.

Kamalini was dismissed for 51 runs. After that, Gongadi did not leave her aggressive stance. She scored an unbeaten 110 runs in 59 balls. She hit 13 fours and 4 sixes. While Sanika Chalke scored 29 runs in 20 balls with the help of 5 fours.

With this, India scored 208 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 20 overs against Scotland and set a target of 209 runs for victory. But Scotland’s wickets fell one after another. Scotland’s innings ended at just 58 runs. With this, India won the match by 150 runs.

Scotland Struggles and India Wins Big

Gongadi Trisha was awarded the Man of the Match award for her century. Gongadi Trisha has created history in the ICC Under-19 World Cup by scoring a century. She has become the first batsman in the ICC Under-19 T20 World Cup to score a century. Her century helped India score 200 runs.

India’s star bowler Vaishnavi Sharma once again excelled in this tournament. She took three wickets and did not give Scotland a chance to come back in the match. She took the wickets of Emma Walsingham, Niamh Muir and Pippa Sprill. Ayushi Shukla has broken the back of Scotland’s batting. Two wickets were taken in the same over on consecutive balls. But the chance of a hat-trick was missed.
