India Champions vs Pakistan Champions: The second edition of the World Championship of Legends 2025 began on July 18 with great excitement. Former international players from seven different countries are participating in this tournament. In the opening match, Pakistan Champions defeated England Champions to start their campaign on a winning note.

However, the most awaited clash of the tournament is scheduled for July 20 – a high-voltage encounter between India Champions and Pakistan Champions. Cricket fans from both countries have been eagerly waiting for this match. But now, the match is facing controversy and possible cancellation due to strong opposition from Indian citizens and fans.

Harbhajan, Pathan Brothers Withdraw Amid National Anger

According to media reports, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has withdrawn from the match against Pakistan, reportedly in response to the increasing opposition. Harbhajan, who played in the first edition of the tournament as well, decided not to participate this time to respect the public sentiment.

Along with Harbhajan, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan have also reportedly decided to skip the match. This decision comes after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, in which 26 Indian tourists were killed. India responded to this tragedy with Operation Sindoor, but public anger over the loss of innocent lives remains high.

Following the attack, India stopped many financial and diplomatic exchanges with Pakistan. So, the public is angry that a cricket match is being played between India and Pakistan just months after such a painful event. Many fans have shown disappointment that Indian players agreed to participate without expressing any protest. In light of this, some players have chosen to stand with the nation and back out of the match.

Coach Sanjay Bhardwaj Criticises Players

Sanjay Bhardwaj, the childhood coach of India’s current head coach Gautam Gambhir, also spoke out strongly. He criticised the players for taking part in the match against Pakistan, saying, “They just want money,” and questioned their commitment to the country.

As emotions continue to rise, the India vs Pakistan Champions match may be cancelled, and the focus is now on whether more players will step back.
