India U-19 Triumphs Over Australia by 2 Wickets in 4-Day Match
Under the leadership of Soham Patwardhan, the India U-19 won the 4-day match against Australia by 2 wickets. Australia challenged India U-19 to 212 runs. India completed this challenge in 61.1 overs losing 8 wickets. Both Nikhil and Nitya Pandya became the heroes of India U-19โs victory. Both of them scored half-centuries in the second innings.
Nitya contributed 51 runs. While Nikhil scored 55 runs not out with 4 sixes and 3 fours in 71 balls. Karthikeya contributed 35 runs and Abhigyan Kundu 23 runs. While Vihan and Captain Soham both scored 11 and 10 runs respectively. So Vaibhav Suryavanshi returned after scoring 1 run. Aidan OโConnor took the most 4 wickets from Australia. Vishwa Ramkumar sent the three back. Thomas Brown lost 1 wicket.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Australia scored 293 all out in 71.4 overs in the first innings. In reply, India scored 296 all out in 62.4 overs to take a nominal lead of 3 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an explosive knock in the first innings for India. Vaibhav scored 104 runs. While Vihan contributed 76 runs. Other batsmen got starts but could not contribute much.
India U-19 then bowled out Australia for 214 runs in 67.4 overs in the second innings. So India U-19 got a challenge of 212 runs. India completed this challenge by losing 8 wickets. Meanwhile, earlier, India gave a clean sweep to Australia in the T20i series. Under-19 team India defeated Australia 3-0. Thus, Australia has to return empty-handed from the India tour
